What is Embrace Autism and Who is it For?
Embrace Autism is an autistic-led and designed programme providing pre- and post-diagnostic support to autistic adults in Scotland.
This programme is for newly diagnosed or self-identified autistic adults.
Embrace Autism offers peer support, information, and resources to help autistic people understand their autism, build a sense of community, and develop the tools they need to live happy, meaningful lives.
How Embrace Autism Supports
Autistic Adults in Scotland
Our programme offers structured support through four key elements:
Group Sessions
Attend weekly 90-minute discussions led by trained professional autistic facilitators. These guided discussions provide a supportive space for sharing experiences, building understanding, and developing confidence in navigating life as an autistic adult.
Closed Community
Upon completion of the six group sessions, join a dedicated, members-only space where participants can continue conversations, seek support, and connect with others who truly understand their experiences. This ensures long-term support beyond the structured sessions.
Resource Library
Watch a collection of short, easy-to-follow videos covering autism-related topics like identity, self-advocacy, and daily life strategies. Available anytime, these resources allow you to learn at your own pace and revisit key insights when needed.
Tailored Support
We aim to meet you where you are. Depending on your needs, we offer personalised resources, guidance, and—when possible—1:1 support to help you get the most out of the programme.
Resource Library: Tools & Guides
Alongside our video library, we offer a growing collection of in-depth, autistic-designed guides covering key topics such as What is Autism?, Autistic Masking, and Reasonable Adjustments.
Our on-demand video series features short, accessible content created to support you in understanding your autistic identity, building practical strategies, and feeling more confident in everyday life. Watch whenever works for you, at your own pace.
Understanding Peer Support for Autistic Adults
Peer support is about connecting with others who share similar experiences, offering mutual understanding and validation. In Embrace Autism, you will join a welcoming group of autistic adults who truly get it—where you can share experiences, gain insights, and feel supported without pressure to mask or explain yourself.
