Our Services for Adults

Group Support

Autistic Knowledge Development created Scotland’s main adult autism pre- and post-diagnostic support service, Embrace Autism.

This fully funded programme is free to access.

What is Embrace Autism?

Embrace Autism offers peer support, information, and resources to help autistic people understand their autism, build a sense of community, and develop the tools they need to live happy, meaningful lives.

Who is it for?

The Embrace Autism programme is for newly diagnosed or self-identified autistic adults based in Scotland.

1-2-1 Support

Autistic Knowledge Development offers a range of 1-2-1 support services, all designed and delivered by professionals who are autistic and multiply neurodivergent. This includes ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, and OCD.

Support can be self-funded or covered through Access to Work.

We meet you where you are, with support that fits your needs and your life.

Mentoring and Coaching

Our 1-2-1 support offers space to talk things through with someone who truly gets it. Whether you are coming to terms with a recent autism or other form of neurodivergent diagnosis, struggling with identity, or facing everyday challenges, our neurodivergent-led mentoring and coaching can help you feel more grounded and understood.

Our team brings a unique mix of lived experience and professional expertise, across a wide range of sectors, including business, design, media, education, and more. We have spent our lives navigating a world that is not always designed for us, and that insight shapes how we support you. Sessions are shaped around what matters to you, whether that is making sense of your neurodivergence, managing overwhelm, or figuring out what is next.

HR Support

If you are struggling at work, you are not alone. Many autistic and neurodivergent adults face barriers like being misunderstood, denied adjustments, or treated unfairly. Our HR support gives you clear, practical guidance, whether you are trying to access reasonable adjustments, navigating a workplace conflict, or just figuring out your rights.

This service is delivered by an experienced HR executive and supported by the wider Autistic Knowledge Development team. Each of us not only understands the systems – we have also lived through them.

We are here to help you feel heard, supported, and more confident in advocating for yourself at work.

Transitions and Job Seeker Coaching

Looking for work, changing careers, or thinking about further study can be especially tough when you are autistic or neurodivergent. We offer practical, one-to-one support to help you explore your options, identify your strengths, and move forward at your own pace.

Sessions might include help with CVs and interviews, understanding what kind of workplace suits you, or building confidence after setbacks. Wherever you are now, we will meet you there.

Executive Coaching and Business Support

This service is led by Sean, an award-winning professional with circa 20 years’ experience across the education, third, health, social care and public sectors. His previous work informed policy at UK government level on universities, civic society, social enterprise and social investment. Sean also has a wide range of commercial business experience both as a qualified business advisor and strategy consultant, and as someone who has set-up and run many different businesses over the years.

Sessions are entirely bespoke and are led by the unique circumstances of the individual. This can include anything from identifying support needs and structures, practical guidance for your job or business, and taking a whole person approach to managing all aspects of your life.

If this sounds like you…

Start here:

“I’m newly diagnosed/self-identified and need help understanding myself.” Mentoring and Coaching or Embrace Autism.
“Work is overwhelming or I’m burning out.” Executive Coaching or Therapy
“I’m looking for a job or changing careers.” Transitions and Job Seeker Coaching
“I want a diagnosis.” Private Diagnosis Referral
“I need support at work.” HR support

I have gained knowledge about myself and my autistic partner. Where before I tended to judge myself and my partner more harshly, now I can identify traits as part of autism, not as ‘moral failings’.
